Game Day


Welcome to the Game Day section of the PLPA web site. Game Day is a segment that features players and how they prepare for games including what they do during the day of a game as a chronology.

This segment will feature Andy Turner's of the Rochester Knighthawks.

Andy Turner's Game Day


10:00 a.m.
- Wake up. Eat breakfast. Mini-Wheats with skim milk and some fruit--orange, apple, banana, etc. Then I take a shower.

11:00 a.m.
- The Jenner-ator, D-$ and I leave Olde Rochesterville (our apartment) for the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.

11:10 a.m.
- Arrive at the War Memorial and organize my equipment in my stall. Then I get changed and ready for a game-day 'shoot-around.'

12:00 p.m.
- 'Shoot-around.' This is followed by a shower and then a short trip for lunch.

1:30 p.m.
- Team lunch at 'The Distillery.' My meal is the 'Speedy Chicken.' It consists of two skewers of chicken, peppers and onions that I place inside a pita. I also eat a side of plain rice and some fresh bread.

2:30pm
- Return to my apartment and relax before getting ready to head back to the War Memorial.

5:15 p.m.
- Arrive at the rink. Re-tape and powder-up my sticks. Read the scouting reports and stats for the opposition. Get ready for warm-ups. Relax.

5:45-7:20pm
- Light warm-ups followed by full warm-ups.

7:35-10:00pm
- Game-time.

10:00-10:45pm
- Relax in locker room, have a shower and get changed. Leave for post-game party at The Sheraton Four Points.

11:00 p.m.
- Reflect upon the occurrences of the day.
