Game Day


Welcome to the Game Day section of the PLPA web site. Game Day is a segment that features players and how they prepare for games including what they do during the day of a game as a chronology.

This segment will feature Darryl Gibson of the Toronto Rock.

Darryl Gibson's Game Day


9:30 a.m.
- wake-up and hit the shower.

10:00 a.m.
- a large continental style breakfast, fruit, juice, cereal, toast.

11:00 a.m.
- get on the Playstation 2 with my son Tyson, play a couple EA03 Hockey.

12:30 p.m.
- head downtown to check in to Westin Harbour and meet a couple of the boys for lunch.

2:00 p.m.
- go for pre-game meal at the Old Spaghetti Factory.

3:00pm
- back to the hotel for pre-game nap, or just cool out on the bed and watch TV.

5:00 p.m.
- walk over to the ACC early to get treatment from the training staff, and start to get mentally focused, always sit next to Steve Toll.

6:15 p.m.
- hit the floor for light warm-up, stretch and get the legs going.

6:40 p.m.
- back out on the floor for full-gear warm-up.

7:15 p.m.
- special teams and face-off meetings, then final speech from Les before game time.

7:35 p.m.
- lay it on the line and go get a W, always touch the left post and corner of boards 3 times before each game.

10:30 p.m.
- to the after party and have a few pops to unwind.
