Welcome to the Game Day section of the PLPA web site. Game Day is a segment that features players and how they prepare for games including what they do during the day of a game as a chronology. This segment will feature Jason Tasse of the Ottawa Rebel. Jason Tasse's Game Day5:30 a.m. - off to the gym. Throw gear in the truck. 7:15 a.m - shower, shave, get dressed. 7:30 a.m. - off to work (Lee Valley Tools Ltd.) until 11:00. 8:15 a.m. - have "game day breakfast" at work always prepared by Lockie - 2 eggs, bacon, toast, tomato and a V8. 10:45 a.m. - finish off at work. Coworkers are all excited about the game that night and wish me luck. 11:15 a.m. - arrive at Corel Center for pre-game practice. Hang out in the change room with the guys catching up until everyone arrives. 12:00 p.m. -On the floor for game-day practice. Stick, helmet and gloves. 1:30 p.m. - head to Marshy's (in the Corel Center) for team lunch - ¼ chicken, pasta, salad and iced tea. 2:00 p.m. - head home for pre-game nap with my two Dobermans - Justice and Libby. 4:30 p.m. - wake up, grab a ham and cheese sandwich, head back to the Corel Center. Call my wife Tammy on route and ask her to wish me luck. 5:00 p.m. - arrive early at the Corel Center for pre game quiet time. Hit the floor with stick and ball alone. 5:30 p.m. - team all arrives and meets before game. Warm up is posted on the wall. 6:00 p.m. - Helmets, sticks gloves and uniforms on. Team stretch and warm up on the floor. 6:30 p.m. - head back in to the room for team talk and start to gear up. 7:00 p.m. - Coaches and captains speak. We discuss game plan, opponents, match-ups and strategy. 7:25 p.m. - team gathers in the hall as introductions begin and players are called out. Another game we want and need to win for our fans - my hometown. After the anthems are played, I run to the home net and run my glove along the cross bar as a pre-game tradition. 7:35 p.m. - the game starts. 10:00 p.m. - game is over (hopefully a win), we chow down on some pizza and recap the game. 10:45 p.m. - Back to Marshy's for some post-game beers and food. The team gathers with friends and family to celebrate and promote the team. 11:30 p.m. - off to On Tap (thanks Patty) for post game shenanigans! |
