PLPA Correspondent Kevin M. Neibauer had the chance to sit down with 15 year veteran, Dallas Eliuk. Eliuk spoke candidly on a variety of lacrosse topics. | |
After having played for fifteen seasons in Philadelphia, is there any one particular game that stands out? |
Winning all the Championships, those are special moments in my career. It would be tough to pick just one game. |
Other than Philadelphia, do you have a favorite town to play in? |
Colorado (Denver) and Toronto. They pack their buildings.
The Wings team this season is unlike many of the teams of old. The team had a nucleus and added a player here or there. What are your thoughts on that? |
There are only four of us left from the 2001 Championship team and with the number of new faces in the starting line-up I must say that I like what we're doing thus far.
A comment was made by a General Manager that Philadelphia and Minnesota are going to be the next powerhouses of the division. Do you agree with that? |
In this league youth will only get you so far. But combine speed (young legs) and experience with the right game plan... then you have the recipe to win. Eliuk continues, "I think the run and gun style makes for a more exciting brand of lacrosse."
How much longer do you see yourself in the game? |
As long I can contribute and enjoy playing the game, I'll continue playing."
It seems like forever but, it seems that every game here, fourth quarter, time winding down, after a timeout, you walk back to your crease and the fans behind the net give you a huge ovation.....is that a thrill? |
The crowd is awesome. Philly fans are like no other, especially when your winning. They have been so supportive over the years, its a great thrill for me knowing that I've made that kind of impact in one of the toughest sports towns to play in."
